You pass the CHÂTEAU DE CHAUMONT SUR LOIRE (view the outside only) and will be taken to visit (on you own):

CHÂTEAU DE CHAMBORD.
More that four centuries after it was built this château still beggars the imagination with its 156 m long and 56 m high façade and its 440 rooms.
Built like a fortress with a keep and large towers in its outer walls, its maze of spires, chimneys, turrets and dormer windows gives it the look of some wonderful palace from the age of chivalry.
Chambord is the dream come true of 25 year old king François I who, charmed by the gentle rhythm of life in the Loire Valley and crowned with the successes of his early military campaigns, decided to build the most sumptuous hunting lodge ever seen.

Then,

CHÂTEAU DE CHEVERNY.
This château, which Tintin’s creator Hergé used as a model for Marlinspike Hall, delights visitors with the richness of its furniture and refined period interior décor.
Cheverny is lived in all year round by its owners, the Hurault family, who descend from a long line of powerful statesmen and advisors to kings Louis XII, François I, Henri III and Henri IV.
The hunting tradition is still upheld on the estate. The kennels house a pack of 70 Anglo-French hunting hounds whose “dinner time” is an amazing sight.
Return to Tours around 6.30 pm

8 pm: Dinner in a restaurant near the hotel in the city centre.
Accommodation in a two or three star hotel in Tours city centre.

Day 2: Tours - Paris

Breakfast in the hotel.
8.50 am: Meet at the Tourist Office.
9 am: Leave in an air-conditioned minibus with driver/escort for a
Second excursion to two other sites in the Loire Valley.
Visit (on your own):
 CHÂTEAU DE CHENONCEAU.
Built in the 16th century, this is one of the purist masterpieces of French Renaissance architecture.
The château is rises over the River Cher itself, supported by the towers of a fortified mill. The square main building is the original château. Catherine de Medicis’ two-storied gallery stretches over the Pont de Diane.
You will visit among others the guardroom, the chapel, the superb 60 metre long gallery above river, the Diane de Poitiers and the François I state rooms.
On the upper floors you will be shown the bedrooms of Gabrielle d’Estrées, Catherine de Médicis and Louise de Lorraine. The kitchens, which are inside two of the towers resting on the river bed, are a wonderful example of the art and ingenuity of Renaissance builders.
 CHÂTEAU D’AMBOISE.
This medieval fortress was turned into a royal residence during the reigns of Charles VIII and François I (late 15th and early 16th centuries). The court and many European men of letters and artists were invited to stay at Amboise by the French kings. One of those was Leonardo da Vinci, whose tomb is in the château’s chapel. This major centre of French history has an exceptionally fine collection of Gothic and Renaissance furniture that testify to the refined taste of the first French Renaissance. After visiting the royal quarters and the impressive towers you can walk through the beautiful gardens with their panoramic views over the River Loire.

Return to Tours around 12.30 or 1 pm.
12.30/1 pm: lunch in a restaurant near the tourist office in Tours.
